Bio for MIGUEL C. BORDALLO, P.E.
Miguel Carlos Bordallo is a registered Professional Engineer. He was born and raised on Guam, although his family resided in such places as Australia, Mexico and the state of Oregon from 1971 to 1976. A proud graduate of Father Dueñas Memorial School, Miguel attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
. After graduating with honors from Marquette, Bordallo worked in the environmental field in the San Francisco Bay area, focusing on environmental investigation and restoration projects, and the design of treatment systems for soil and groundwater remediation.
In 1995 Bordallo returned to Guam to work in a prominent engineering firm as a Project Manager, and was promoted to Vice-President 3-years later. He eventually established two new divisions and became a partner in Dueñas, Bordallo & Associates,
In 2008 Bordallo left the firm to pursue larger design-build projects and public-private partnerships. He established Bordallo Consulting Engineers and has successfully completed multiple design-build, and design-build-finance projects for wastewater infrastructure, educational and other facilities, including a $69M high school finance-design-build-maintain-leaseback project.
Bordallo has been an active member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, held leadership positions with the Guam Society of Professional Engineers (GSPE), serving several terms as President and currently as National Delegate. Mr. Bordallo developed, lobbied for and founded the GSPE Engineering Advisory Council for the express purpose of providing free, non-partisan policy guidance on engineering and construction issues to public officials on Guam. He is a member American Water Works Association (AWWA) – Western Pacific Subsection, and has served as a volunteer on numerous public service organizations and committees.
He currently resides in Chalan Pago with his wife Michelle and her two sons. In his spare time he enjoys running, basketball, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
